I wanted to do a gallery wall in this bedroom and as always I was working on a budget. So this is what I came up with - it's a mix of brand new and DIY elements.
The 2 oval frames on the left are Goodwill finds spray painted white with scans from a favourite book. They were originally an ugly gold colour and covered in dust and both were filled with floral oil paintings. I scanned and printed 2 pages from one of our favourite Robert Munsch books Mud Puddle. I love the artwork in this book and the little girl who stands up for herself and takes care of business!
The middle picture I purchased at HomeSense and the "A" is from Winners.
The bottom right is a dollar store frame spray painted white with artwork I created in Photoshop. Another one of our favourite books is Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown and outer space is a popular topic in our house so I combined a quote with an image I found online and printed it off to put in the newly-white frame.
I'm sure I'll switch up this wall as my daughter grows so that it can reflect her personality and interests and the best part about doing this kind of DIY and low-cost decorating means that I won't have to feel bad about that! A whole wall decorated for about $50!
