The day has finally come! I've shown you the biggest DIY projects for this room including the feature wall and and light, the custom shelves and art organizer, the gallery wall and the reading nook. Today I've got some final shots of the whole room! Here is what her room looked like before (remember we also switched our guest room and this room around).
And now the "after" of the Purple Clouds bedroom. I am so happy with this transformation and best of all, my daughter LOVES it!
Like I said before, we were able to reuse most of her previous bedroom furniture in this new room including her bed, dresser and side table. Here is a source list for some of those things. I was actually surprised to realize that many of the pieces in this room come from IKEA but the room doesn't feel like a typical IKEA kids bedroom. That's because of the DIY projects and thrifted items in this room. Doing some DIY and customization means you can inject some of the personality of the inhabitant into the space!
- Bed: IKEA DUKEN (no longer available but this one is very similar)
- Dresser: IKEA MANDAL (no longer available)
- Overhead light: IKEA SKOJIG ceiling lamp
- Reading nook lights: IKEA RANARP
- Euro pillows: IKEA GULLKLOCKA
- Bedspread: Sears
- Curtains: Homesense
- Curtain rod: Lowes
